Why I am currently pissed at Bing.com

This is by no means a review of Bing.com. Far from that. However this is a mini post about how I currently feel about Bing.com. This morning I decided to briefly test drive the Microsoft search platform called Bing.com. At first I was kinda pleasantly surprised about the layout which to me was somewhat unusual.
I wanted to know how Bing will conduct its search. After All I am a domainer and a webmaster. It is always a good thing to know on which side ones bread is buttered. I was not immediately concerned about how Bing may change the world,  bring global peace or feed the hungry– far from that, all I wanted to know was how Bing might affect my bottom line.

I did a search of two of my websites which currently rank at #1 on there search terms which incidentally is the domain name (no brainer) These domains are giants in there respective categories and which is one of the reasons why it has been somewhat easier to keep them on the top rank in Google. Once in a while they dip a little to maybe 5th place but I always manage to work them back to the top. By the way I am no SEO guru.

Anyway, back to Bing. Neither of these domains could be found on the first page of Bing listings. One ended up at the bottom of the second page and the other was on page 3 or so. Now I am pissed. Honestly I hope Bing never becomes a power to contend with in search. I know that some will argue that competition brings more payout but of what use is the speed of the runaway camel? If I am not at the top rankings then what use is it to me that Bing pays more?

Before I started writing this micro post, I Binged SkyDomains and it is #1  for that search and # 2 for Sky Domains. It was beat to the top spot by domaining.com’s listing for SkyDomains.com

In summary, I think it is too early to call and a lot can soon change. Lets wait and see. Anyone Binged there domains or site yet?

It’s a bit short to measure the interest of Bing.com in your own sites rankings :)

If your site is not in the first result page this means another site taken your place, you are pesting and another is happy. That’s the live with serps. Is the site site that taken your place better or worst than your? That’s the question.

Maybe tomorrow your site wil rank well and you will make a post saying bing is super!

    Hummmmm…

I was just using myself to demonstrate how man often looks for immediate gain instead of the whole picture

My 3 web sites ranking #1 on MSN search for high paying keywords disappeared from Bing serp to unknown ranks. Just FYI.
