When Rick Latonna first indicated in his newsletter that MCC.com will be amongst the domains auctioned off at the just concluded auction. I was real curious to know what this gem will fetch. I will say that I was way off the mark.
MCC.com was registered in November of 1985. That is 23 years ago!
 —-wait for it— MCC.com is the 4th .com ever registered in the history of the world. WOW!

If any domain qualifies as art, then MCC.com is it. While I am not sure of who and who has owned it in the past, I bet it must have some real good and strong provenance.  To crown it all, this domain makes approximately $100 USD a day That will be roughly 3K a month. Nothing to sneeze at.

MCC.com was snatched up at $195,000 dollars. While the price reflects on the general state of the economy, I say kudos to the buyer. Nice catch.

And to Rick I say Bravo for having the nerves to auction such a formidable name.

Most people will hold on to names like that  almost forever, forgetting live as we know it ends here on earth. In after life, one needs no domain name, the only name you need stamped on  your passport after all  this is over will be the name of Christ.
