Domaining for tough times

FrankieI just came back from the grocery store after today’s Sunday service. No matter how tough the economy is, people are still buying food and some are even trying to eat healthy despite the increased cost of a healthier choice. This post is not about the price of sliced bread but whether in tough times, you should just fold up and quit? Actually this is a good season for domaining, this economic hard times presents brilliant opportunities. More people are reading about Hybrids, Solar, Organic, and Eco  just to mention a few of tomorrow’s pacesetters. These  hard times could present a better tomorrow for you domain enterprise. It is Robert Schuller who said “Tough times don’t last but tough people do” Guess what, he is as right as night and day.

The words of the preacher in  Ecclesiastes 11:6

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
Sow your seed in the morning and do not be idle in the evening, for you do not know whether morning or evening sowing will succeed, or whether both of them alike will be good.

I think the book of Ecclesiastes is one of the literal masterpiece of one of the wisest men ever. His name was King Solomon. He never bought a .com or dot anything but he bought and built domains of his days. He is also credited with building the biggest and most beautiful Temple for the Lord here on earth in his time. Now that is a domain! .This quote from his work is also a call to diversification.  Develop some of your sites to mini-sites or full sites. Do something don’t just fold your hands and wait for tomorrow to come. Those that will rule tomorrow are those laying foundations now.

One final tip. Do not ignore the drop list, more and more domains are being dropped and once in a while you could turn up a gem

There are great domains literally dropping every hour, during the daily drop and tasters drops, so you’ve got more than one chance to grab that next great name… Will this downturn in the economy result in better names dropping like those during the dot com bubble years ago that has since made millionaires… dunno, but if they do, I’ll be there to at least watch them, lol…
