It is possible a lot of you may have already received similar offers in the past but I have come to realize that no two domainers replies to offers quite the same way.  These days I have taken to ignoring obvious low ball offers from Sedo. A lot of people will frown at this practice and I am not advocating it to be the best method but I am thinking if you see a category killer domain with more than 10 past offers, it is unlikely, 500 bucks is the asking price.  When offers come to me directly via email, sometimes, I will wait till I get to my home office to reply to such offers after due research and other times, I will reply immediately from my Droid. Does your company support our troops?

1998 Texas Air Force Base

Today is veterans day (See me in my Air Force blues; circa 1998) . It is fashionable for a company to claim that they support our troops or that they support veterans but how many really do? Most of the comments claimed I was a “.COM Protectionist”, to which I say “really?” I wish that was the case. The last time I checked, I still do not own any domain registrar. I have also trimmed my domain holding to less than 250 names. If you factor in the fact that some of the registrations are to reinforce a particualr brand, then this actually brings my unique domain holding  (more…)

Beginners take heed; why .co may not be for you

He who has ears, let him hear or in this case, he who has eyes, let him read.  Sorry if this post comes rather late but it is better late than never. I have been asked by a lot of people about my opinion on the .co domain extension. Most of the questions where simply conversations in passing while a few of them were actually beginners and fellow domainers who wanted to sample my opinion on the now popular .co extension
Before you read further, please be advised that anything you read here is simply one man’s opinion. I will however try as much as possible to back my  reasoning with facts and lessons learnt from history. (more…)
