Removing NoFollow from Blog

Effective today, I have decided to remove the NoFollow attribute from all comment posted here at SkyDomains. By default, anyone who includes their URL in the URL/Webpage  field when submitting a comment has the NoFollow attribute automatically attached   to that link. This “theoretically” tells Google and other search engines not to follow that link when determining pagerank and assessing linkbacks from a blog.  Personally I have always frowned at blogs that have the nofollow attribute and I did not even know that mine was one of them (more like complaining about the spec in your neighbours eyes when  you have a log in yours) . It was not until flippingdomainguide.com commented  on one of my posts here and spoke out that I realized my blog was one of those blogs I detest.
There are a couple of pluginsyou can use to remove the nofollow attribute from your blog but the one I used is DoFollow Plugin.  I do not think it is fair to deprive my contributors the one side benefit they get for contributing to SkyDomains. ( Please note. The links above are NOT affiliate links. I have included them as a convenience to my readers and a thank you to FlippingDomainGuide.com for speaking out)

What is your experience with this issue ?

A Little HTML Trick I Use

Some weeks ago, I read a post on ElliotsBlog about HTML. (Hyper Transfer Markup Language) I was not able to comment at the time because I was on a mobile network and pressing those little phone buttons are not that much fun for my big fingers. Well I tried to find the post now so that I could give it credit in this blog post but could not. Basically I am going to be piggy backing on that post.

I do not speak the HTML language but I understand a thing or two and over time I am now able to do a lot with HTML and even PHP and you too can after reading this post. (more…)

Where There is No Vision, Domainers Perish

Lets go back to why you started domaining. Was it to make the registrars richer? Was it to spend countless hours looking over endless list of domains you own? What was your original vision? What did you hope to accomplish by now? If you are not there yet, are you on the right path? MY IMAGINATION INFLUENCES MY ASPIRATION. In other words, your dreams determine your destiny. To accomplish anything you must first have a mission, a goal, a hope, a vision. “Without a vision the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18.
-Rick Warren (link). (Please note this is NOT an affiliate link)

Lets say you have done almost everything right with your domains. You have worked hard, followed all the good advice but you are still not where you think you should be. Do not give up. You could be at the gestation period of your dreams. Sometimes to prepare you for where you are going (more…)

A Domain Poem by a Non Poet: Oh Domainers

The Economy tumbles
Like a Frisbee  against the Summer wind
The Domain King strikes again
Candy sells for millions
Not a million candy
Just one Candy
The only Candy in the world.
Call it Voodoo if you like
That too is gone

So you wanna be a domainer with $100?

I have always imagined what I would tell someone who is just starting out in the domain business, in this time in our hemisphere. My advice is so simple that its simplicity might put some people off. I remember when I was a personal trainer, everyone wanted the quick fix. It has not changed even in domaining. We all want it and we want it now. Ideally instead of buying 300 names and hope one of the m makes it, you should buy one good name and make it with that name. However this post is not geared to those who have reasonable capital to start. I am going to assume in this post that you are starting with $100 (One hundred US dollars) Yes 100 dollars it is is not a typo. I am also going to assume that you are able to spare 90 to 120 minutes a day 6 days a week. If this sounds like a “do” to you then read on. (more…)

How do you decide what domain name to renew and what name to let expire?

While chatting with a pal the other day over at Twitter. He asked me a rather interesting question “How do you decide what domain to re-register and which one to drop?’ You see over at twitter I give away free domains once in while if I do not want to renew them so this I guess is what prompted the question. It got me thinking. If one person wants to know maybe someone else might care for such information. This is not a technical manual on domain registration or ownership but just a simple approach I personally follow especially in these  precarious times in our economy.

So without much ado here are the steps I follow:

Reason behind Registration
The first thing I consider is why I registered the name in the first place. This is a very important factor because some names by virtue of this singular factor may (more…)
